This guide details the process for managing page restrictions within GimCore. Page restrictions allow administrators to control user access to specific content pages, ensuring that only authorized users or roles can view or interact with designated pages.
Administrators can view, add, or delete page restrictions directly from this interface.
Navigating to Page Restriction Management
To access the Page Restriction Management screen, navigate through the left-hand menu:
- Click on Pages.
- Select Settings.
- Choose the Permission option.
This action will display the Page Restriction table, listing all configured restrictions.
Understanding the Page Restriction Table
The Page Restriction table provides an overview of all currently defined access restrictions for pages. Each row represents a single restriction and displays the following columns:
- ID: The unique identifier for the page restriction.
- Name: The name of the restriction, typically indicating the page or group it applies to.
- Created At: The timestamp when the restriction was initially created.
- Actions: This column contains action buttons to manage individual restrictions:
- ✏️ Edit: Clicking this icon opens a modal dialog to modify the details of the selected page restriction.
- 🗑️ Delete: Clicking this icon removes the selected page restriction from the system.
Adding a New Page Restriction ➕
To establish a new access restriction for a page:
- Click the ➕ Add New button located in the top-right corner of the screen.
- A modal dialog will appear, prompting you to configure the new page restriction. Provide the necessary details, which typically include selecting the page to restrict, the type of restriction (e.g., by user, role), and the specific users or roles allowed or denied access.
- Once all required fields are completed, click the Save button within the modal to create the new restriction.
Editing an Existing Page Restriction ✏️
To modify the properties of an existing page restriction:
- In the Page Restriction table, locate the restriction you wish to edit.
- Click the ✏️ Edit icon in the Actions column corresponding to that restriction.
- A modal dialog will open, pre-populated with the current details of the restriction. Make the necessary adjustments to the fields.
- Click the Update button within the modal to apply your changes.
Deleting a Page Restriction 🗑️
To remove a page restriction from the system:
- In the Page Restriction table, identify the restriction you intend to delete.
- Click the 🗑️ Delete icon in the Actions column for that specific restriction.
- A confirmation dialog will appear. Review the details to ensure you are deleting the correct restriction.
- Confirm the deletion to permanently remove the page restriction. This action cannot be undone.
