To access the Manage Role Members screen, navigate via the left-hand menu:
- Select User Management.
- Click on Roles.
- In the Roles data table, locate the specific role you wish to manage and click the Actions column's Manage Members (person/group icon) button. This action will direct you to the Manage Role Members screen.
Understanding the Manage Role Members Screen 📝
This screen allows administrators to assign or remove users from a specific role. Efficient management ensures that users have appropriate access permissions within the GimCore system. The screen presents two primary sections for managing role members:
- User not in Role: Displays a list of users who are currently not assigned to the selected role.
- User in Role: Displays a list of users who are currently assigned to the selected role.
Adding Users to a Role ➕
To assign users to the currently selected role:
- Within the User not in Role section, locate the user(s) you wish to add. You can use the search bar or pagination to find specific users.
- For each desired user, click the Add User to Role (plus icon) button located in the Actions column corresponding to that user.
- Upon success, the user will move from the User not in Role list to the User in Role list.
Removing Users from a Role 🗑️
To revoke a user's membership from the currently selected role:
- Within the User in Role section, locate the user(s) you wish to remove. Utilize the search bar or pagination if necessary.
- For each user to be removed, click the Remove User from Role (minus icon) button situated in the Actions column for that user.
- Upon successful removal, the user will be moved from the User in Role list back to the User not in Role list.
Data Table Columns Explained 📋
Both the User not in Role and User in Role data tables feature the following columns:
- User ID: A unique identifier assigned to each user within the GimCore system.
- User Name: The display name of the user.
- Actions: Contains the primary functional buttons for adding or removing users from the role.
Search and Filter Functionality 🔍
To efficiently locate specific users within either the User not in Role or User in Role sections:
- Use the Search by User Name input field to filter the displayed list by typing all or part of a user's name. The list will dynamically update as you type.
